6/26/2023 0 Comments How to draw the marvel way book![]() ![]() At this point I am very aware that I have not yet picked up my pencil or even cast a cursory doodle toward my clean sketchpad. Ok so far, so I turn the page and we’ve moved forward putting these various shapes together to create more complex objects. ![]() ![]() Buscema’s illustrations show his examples of how these shapes can be used to create everyday objects and give them realistic form. We are presented with three basic shapes the sphere, the cube and the cylinder, of which most everyday objects consist in some form or another. The first few pages explain that we need to train ourselves to think around objects in terms of shapes. A glance through the pages and it becomes clear that this chapter is all about drawing an object with some basic perspective and three-dimensional qualities to make it appear less flat. It’s a long time since I picked up a pencil with the aim of doing something creative. Apparently “anyone, even you or I, can draw some sort of circle or square’ which feels like quite an assumption to be honest. So I took a deep breath and opened up chapter 2 the secrets of form. We set one of our team the challenge of learning to draw comics the Marvel way. ![]()
